The MEP presents Lin Zhipeng aka 223 who with Amour Défendu (Forbidden Love) explores the love expressed by people of different and non-conforming genders, challenging the traditional concept of “public nudity” through a kind of “liberation.”
“LOVE is a subject I have focused on for a long time, but this is the first time I have made a large number of nude photographs in an urban public space. I have photographed in cities before, and occasionally in public spaces, but this is the first time I have undertaken an urban project of this magnitude. I used Asian models that were familiar to me, because we have similar cultural backgrounds. Together, we put aside the conservatism and tradition that characterizes Asians to seek the type of freedom that comes from pleasure.” Lin Zhipeng
