Through multiple facets, the 18 authors of La Fabrique make us discover, share and understand these lifestyles that are found on a Mediterranean scale.
What is a Mediterranean lifestyle? To share a “Mediterranean Diet”: ways to cook, live or talk to each other to try and tame the ghosts of memory, especially colonial ones; to question values, common or not, forms of belief that cross borders; to appreciate Italian felicità – and its shadows today; to live to the rhythm of the cities, so singular in the Mediterranean world. And then encourage, facing the Black Mediterranean, the creation of art, literary, musical or photographic – which invites us to never despair of this world. Rediscovering a thought of noon, this thought of the limits, the measure against excess, so dear to Albert Camus, which in our time, aware of the devastation of our planet, we need so much.
The Mediterranean is not a dead star, it inspires a lifestyle in our twenty-first century.
