The overall concept is to represent each person with a symbolic object telling us about his personal history. The somewhat small size of the object reflects the enormous suffering of the person.
Some are posing with a medicine box, a suitcase, a bloodstained T Shirt, a diploma, an UNHCR form. It represents either a hope or a memory; It tells us about them and their suffering.
These small objects lead us to understand their every day life since they left their country.
These portraits intend to show the concept of a refugee on a human scale. Twenty portraits and testimonies (short phrases by the refugees themselves) as twenty opportunities to better understand their situation and hopes, or despair.
