British photographer Martin Parr, a member of the Magnum Photos agency, will be in conversation with Lesley Martin, artistic director of the Aperture Foundation, tonight at the Metrograph (Chinatown, New York). The photographer will present two of his films: Think of England (1999) and Teddy Gray’s Sweet Factory (2011). These two works prolong the photographic works of Parr. It films the post-industrial era in Britain and its consumer society and its modes of production with humor and detachment.
This projection-encounter integrates a cycle given in homage to the 70 years of Magnum Photos.
