The 3 ways/voices of the Unique
This work is based on a personal creative approach, a meditative research where a frame is gradually woven between the religious worlds of Judaism, Christianity and Islam.
I walk through the walls of the Old City of Jerusalem, from the Holy Sepulcher to the Dome of the Rock, passing through the Wailing Wall.
Believer or agnostic, we are fascinated by this oriental and mystical atmosphere, immersed in the symphony of the voices of the muezzin, the shofar, the bells. Something inexplicable radiates, floats in the air.
My gaze is drawn to these posters, these panels, these inscriptions, and these religious symbols, crosses, stars of David, crescents, virgins… which cover the walls.
From one neighborhood to another, Jewish, Muslim, Christian, I walk the Way of the Cross, the Via Dolorosa; yet, in the name of the One, the sons of Abraham took separate paths, tore themselves apart, fragmented. The sky has split.
By juxtaposing, by superimposing, by bringing together on each image these fragments, these shreds, these symbols, I would like to weave links, to find a breath of hope in this fragile balance, to show My Jerusalem, the Holy, the city of the Alliance, the city of Peace.
