Silence. – Berlin is unrealistically quiet these days. The Kurfürstendamm, which is overpopulated on normal spring days, is deserted. There are no tourists at the Brandenburg Gate anymore. The few Berliners who stroll through their own city do so only in twos. Angela Merkel no longer rules the Chancellery, she has retired to her home office. And so the government district sleeps like a peaceful animal. And everyone hopes that this unreal dream will end soon.
