For a year and a half, users and caregivers from the adult psychiatry department of pole 94G16 joined a workshop led by photographer Marion Gronier, on the question of self-representation through photography.
How to express, through the photographic image, the way I perceive myself, how I feel, how I experience my relationship with others? To show oneself, to conceal oneself, to tell of a presence in the world that is prevented and worried.
During the development of this work, these participants were led to become aware of their image, to appropriate it by experimenting with different photographic possibilities and then to create and stage themselves.
It was about being the author of the conditions of one visibility and its perception by others.
This self-image, so often taken hostage and stigmatized, is here taken up and reinvested by the body that carries it. The I affirms itself.
