With “Body”, I would like to question identity and how a female body is considered in our modern society, when media shows it restlessly and how this can influence behaviour, thoughts and minds.
I wanted a sort of a beautiful but almost empty shell, to value up the form, and with the repetition of a body, zoom in, zoom out, emphasise the monotony that bring to ordinariness.
And so just like in magazines, we go through pages without seeing the ads, and even less the models, used to sell about everything and anything. We don’t notice them anymore; The girls, their face, body, etc… all becoming mundane and insignificant, and, worth, carrying stereotype on gender.
Using the power of the nude portrait, which blend with old ads through transparent collage, the project criticise the way consumption rules the world, bringing out the relation between the “self” and the social identity, and especially how women are seen as an object and used to sell any type of products, for then be abandoned, and forgotten…
