Back from the Casa de Velázquez, Magali Lambert is presenting for the first time in Paris the exhibition Échos, featuring two of her series: Miroirs du Temps (Escurial) and Écho, wherein the present and the infinite coexist in a perpetual mise en abîme. The artist questions these two ideas, placing nature and the body alongside magical objects that open a window onto the ineffable: the mystery of life, the existential link between man’s precarious condition and his personal and collective history. How does this representation work? The first shots from the series Miroirs du Temps were taken near El Escorial, the historical residence of the king of Spain. This lavish royal and monastic 16th-century palace is the symbol of worldly and timeless power.
Magali Lambert was born in 1982 in Paris, where she lives and works today.
