My artistic research comes from an ideal of beauty, leading me to discover unknown people with a strong inner life. Entering the other’s life, trying to understand them in their entirety brings me to study myself. The characters that affect me have something of myself, I can notice it in their looks, in the way they ask for a second before the shooting.
I mainly use black and white photography arising from my obsession with the past, from wich also comes my passion for decadence, the result of lived experiences. I rather picture women in their intimacy, everyday life and despair. More than once, it happened to me to photograph desperate characters.
Silence, dark colours, sex, imperfection in general and women form my inexhaustible source of inspiration.
“I don’t search perfection but the untiring conquest of their inner monsters. The obscurity, at the same time, is the beauty that seduces” Luna Tristá.
Luna Tristá born in Havana, Cuba in 1980, she started her path as a photographer in 2005 at IDEP (Uni- versity High School of Image and Design) in Barcelona. In 2011 she moved to Milan where she lives now. 7 Her obsession for the past brings her to work in black and white, this gives to her portraits a strong and ancient look.
