A SUMMER IN CINQUE TERRE
For me as a photographer it seems important to me to resurrect the poetry, the beauty and the side transcendent of our everyday life to save its meaning in this world of speed and materialism.
It is precisely the daily newspaper itself that has an immense, exceptional character. Each moment exists with its own uniqueness and it is unlike any other. So, for me, the everyday is nothing trivial, on the contrary, it is the mortality of each of us and the things that we surround that is played in every thousandth of a second that we live.
Cinque Terre is a very visited place on the Italian Mediterranean coast where we find 5 villages: Monterosso, Vernaza, Corniglia, Manarola and Riomaggiore. Every summer, these villages receives thousands of people, the place is well known for the wealth of colorful houses built in the mountains a few meters from the sea and the very beautiful seascapes and mountain, the temptation is always to photograph his wonderful landscapes.
Summer of 2017, I arrived there with the objective of focusing my vision on the people who go there, by mingling with them, being close enough and also having a perspective to capture the banality, relaxation, colors, the vital energy of the daily life of these places.
I noticed that the colors of the houses are spreading everywhere and that includes people who complete with their presence this multicolored environment boosted by a light with a very seductive character, the poetry of everyday life was present in every corner, I saw it, I felt it, but especially I tried to predict it to catch it with my device.
With these photos, I try to leave the visual trace of my way to Cinque Terre in the simplicity and banality of everyday life that unfolds in these beaches every summer.
