More artist’s book than mere exhibition catalogue, this work accompanies the event of the season at Le BAL. It features the work of the five photographers from the exhibition—Sophie Calle, Julien Magre, Stéphane Couturier, Alain Bublex and Antoine d’Agata—although in a somewhat different form. Alongside the captions and short texts are strange vertical, dotted lines like the ones found on highways. The photographs are partially glued to the page, and must be lifted up to read the texts underneath. This fragile design leaves room for the enigmas which the highway can, in the spirit of these artists, call to mind.
