Phnom Penh. Cambodia. 11am.
Textile workers leave the factory.
These men and women are paid 59 euro a month for 54 hours of work per week.
They live a few hundred meters from the factory in slums and overcrowded and confine housing owned by the company.
They try to support their families by working up to four extras hours a day.
On the morning of Friday, January 3, at least five of them were killed by Kalashnikovs fired by military police during a demonstration demanding a wage increase.
According to the World Bank, their salaries account for one to three percent of the retail prices of the jeans and sneakers they produce.
