I am a Madrid-based photographer currently working on different projects related to man and his body. My latest work is Alma Herida (Wounded Soul).
This series is a reflection on the physical and moral limits of man through the figure of the bullfighter. Fifteen of the most important bullfighters agreed to undress and show the scars covering their bodies, as well as their souls. This is an in-depth work about a powerful and controversial subject, one which brings modern man face-to-face with his contradictions. Between a thirst for truth and a fear for the physical reality of the body, these images invite reflection. What is courage? What is insanity? Where does disgust end and fascination begin? Lucid and hypnotic, the way the bullfighters see their own destiny is fascinating.
