Jennifer Huxta –Jeunes et Fauches

Preview

This series is called Jeunes et Fauchés and the pictures were made between 1997 and 2002.

Originally from Pennsylvania, I lived in Paris for 10 years, working as a photographer, teaching photography with the Oxbridge Program, and coordinating photography workshops for the Maine Media Workshops. Currently based in Nairobi, Kenya, I’m completing a series of documentary photography projects on the themes of unity and youth re-education via sports and art, while also working on assignments for NGOs. At A River Blue in Northern Uganda, I created a photography and creative journaling workshop for young adults displaced by the conflict with the Lord’s Resistance Army; resulting in a photo mural and paintings of images from their dreams. I document everything in my journals, exploring the crossroads of photo, reportage, collage, drawing, perception, memory and storytelling.
