Beds of misfortune
It was during my wanderings in my city (Marseille) that I met these “beds of misfortune”. This title came to my mind when I was taking the first picture of this portfolio. Like many street photographers I had the opportunity to take pictures of homeless people asleep because of fatigue or alcohol (it is also used to warm up and fall asleep), but it is difficult to show a human being sleeping on the ground in miserable conditions without being suspected of a certain voyeurism. This succession of beds of misfortune seemed to me to have even more strength, perhaps.
Only the last image of this portfolio shows one of these street dwellers taken one summer morning in front of the church of Notre-Dame du Mont, seeing me he had smiled and showed the tag above him “Love will win”.
