Jean-Christian Bourcart’s career is symptomatic of the evolution of photojournalism. Member of the Rapho agency, photographer for Libération, VSD, or l’écho des Savanes, he moved into the sphere of photojournalism until the 2000s. Anticipating the decline of the print media, he turned to less conventional subjects, more personal, with a more visual approach. It offers a reflection on the way we look at the images and the position of the photographer in relation to the world. He won the Niépce prize in 2010 and the Nadar prize in 2011.
