For the first edition of the « Rencontre Photographique Nature Humaine », Jacques Borgetto will exhibit l’autre versant du monde (The Other Side of the World).
“For the past few years, Jacques Borgetto has wandered Latin America with his camera. He feels he belongs there, , and shows it with a strong and precise hand that avoid clichés. His images are about steel mines, railways, or massive concrete blocks, and they glimmer in their desolation. From more familiar Latin America to Tibet, they communicate solitude, the respiration of open spaces and the isolation whithin those spaces, paradoxically, closed in. The fury of waterfalls and windswept plains suggest the power of nature confronted with the traces of an already decrepit urban modernity.”
