Alveare is a women’s soccer team which plays in the CSI championship in Italy.
Through shots in black and white, I tried to tell the story of this female universe made up of different interests, cultures and ages, but that has a common interest in a sport conventionally considered male.
The work was done as if it were a backstage. The photos were taken mainly in the locker room and during training. The aim was to show not only the competition but the passion for this sport and the solidarity involved. This is the value that football has for the Alveare Team: rejoicing for a goal scored or crying for one taken or simply having fun and being together.
The hidden naked bodies, the falling curls and the tattoos mixed with hugs describe femininity, a peculiarity that underlines the self-determination of women in sports but also in society.
