One year ago, the creation of the CIP was announced during the festival « Visa pour l’Image ». The CIP has several non commercial aims : To create a unique documentary ressources funding about photojournalism and its history.
Host and preserve original works by photojournalists.
Initiate and foster projects that promote works by photojournalists : publications, exhibitions, multimedia materials, symposiums…
Build and implement education programs in photojournalism and contemporary image awareness.
Today, in September 2016, the CIP becomes a reality with significant steps forward :
A building dedicated to the CIP open all year long in the « Couvent des Minimes » where are exhibited a selection of pictures that have been offered to the CIP by some of the 60 photographers who joined the project.
A performing on line platform to allow access to :
⁃ the photos hosted by the CIP (publications, synopsis…)
⁃ the photo exhibitions created by the CIP
⁃ the slide shows presented during the screenings of Visa pour l’Image
⁃ the multimedia docs collected and/or produced by the festival.
And two main photo exhibitions already produced and presented :
⁃ « 1945 : The return of the absent » in partnership with the AFP (October 2015)
