Girl’s act groups the two series by Hein Kuhn Oh: Highschool girls and Actor’s school. Born in Seoul in 1963, Hein Kuhn Oh graduated from Brooks Institute of Photography, and studied cinema and photography at the University of Ohio, USA. In 1989 he started as a documentary photographer, capturing the social landscape of Korean society. Over ten years, he produced series of portraits revealing simultaneously the desire and the emotional fragility of certain specific social groups in Korea, with Ajumma (middle-aged housewives), Highschool girls, Actor’s school and Cosmetic girls.
