The exhibition presented by Mondo Gallery – Bo Káo titled “Under an Andalusian Sky“, is the result of a photographic journey in Al Andalus, conducted by 10 international photographers and directed by Kim Weston and Miguel Soler-Roig. During one week the photographers toured Andalusia following the journey made by Washington Irving in the XIX century, visiting interesting sites and places like Granada, Ronda, Tarifa, Seville and other cities.
Kim visited Spain for the first time to experience a culture rich in history and traditions, like his grandfather Edward did in Mexico in the 20’s. It is interesting to draw analogies between them in two similar moments during their career and observe the results of Kim ‘s reflections along this trip. The particular views of each photographer in relation to the nude integrated in a spectacular architectural landscape generate a complete and exquisite panorama of Al-Andalus. Working from the detail and close-ups to panoramic shots; intervened or direct photographs; the aesthetics or the concept, in black and white or in colour; sensuality or innocence, the outstanding aspect of this exhibition is the heterogeneity of the looks that allow the viewer to move in unexpected directions.
