The 6th edition of the Prix Photo Hôtel, Photo d’Auteur was given to Charlotte Tanguy for her photographs “Souvenir of the Moon.” The Prix Virginie Clément 2012 was given to Alain Cornu. The annual exhibition will be on display through September 29 at the Galerie Esther Woerdehoff (Paris 15), and afterward the Hôtel La Belle Juliette (Paris 6) from October 1 through November 5.

For the 2012 edition, there will be two separate exhibitions .
From September 6-29, at the Esther Woerdehoff gallery, and at the Hôtel la Belle Juliette from October 1 through November 5, 2012.
“We wanted to continue working with the Esther Woerdehoff gallery where such renowned artists as Camille Claudel and Constantin Brancusi once worked. It was only logical to continue the exhibition at the Belle Juliette Hotel, a superbe location providing visibility for contemporary photography in its exhibition hall that tells the story of an exceptional woman and patron of the arts, Madame Récamier.”

Carte Blanche 2012 : Magnum Photos
Each year, Alain Bisotti, artistic director, offers carte blanche to an artist whose work is revealed the evening of the opening. La Carte Blanche provides the opportunity for a photographer to take series of pictures about the hotels of the label Hôtels Paris Rive Gauche.

For 2012, Alain Bisotti offered the Carte Blanche to 5 Magnum Photos photographers. The 5 photographers were each inspired by the night they spent in a Hôtels Paris Rive Gauche hotel.
Steve McCurry at La Belle Juliette, Christopher Anderson at l’Hôtel Design Sorbonne, Bruce Gilden at l’Hôtel des Grands Hommes, Paolo Pellegrin at l’Hôtel Jardin de l’Odéon and Moises Saman at l’Hôtel du Panthéon.
The exhbition will take place inside and outside, featuring the twelve photographers competing for the PHPA, the Carte Blanche at Magnum Photos featuring 5 photos by the 5 agency photographers (one photo per photographer).
