Portraits of People Without Clothes.
These portraits are from a series entitled Two or More, taken in my studio and at various locations.
I photograph without pretense.
My work is defined by the 5 Criteria:
Mastery of Tools and Technique
A Rapport between the Photographer and the Subject
The Visibility of that Rapport to the Viewer
Unique Vision
Strong Emotional Impact
I have no predisposition, no message as to what I do or why. I just take pictures.
Rarely have I met the people I photograph before they walk into my small studio. We talk for a few minutes, develop a rapprochement, and work for an hour. I take about twenty frames of film.
I photograph with an 8 x 10 Deardorff view camera using black and white film. I work exclusively in the afternoon with daylight from a bank of west-facing windows. When on location, I work without fill or reflected light.
For the past twenty years I have rendered my photographic images as artifacts in the resurgent art of Platinum Printing.
Le plus simple, le meilleur.
