April fourteen, two thousand and nineteen, I attended the photo exhibition at the Hotel de Limur Vannes as part of the Vannes Photos Festival. I met Guy Le Querrec, photographer from Magnum. Huge talent, huge career, whose biography is so rich it is almost impossible to write about … I knew only a tiny part, this meeting was a little like the discovery of an iceberg, I did not imagine how much work he had done during all those years …
I will find out, in part, a little later. After spending this special day together, this resulted, for the space of a summer, to my becoming an “aide-de-camp”, for filing pictures, (and what photos!) in the archives, to discover contact sheets Maybe 40,000, and so many reportages previously unseen found and found again … there were real nuggets. It was thus a helping exchange against wise advice and stories … a summer a little apart, and so incredible…
