Gilles Caron would be 75 today. But it only took him a few years to leave a permanent mark on the history of photography. May 1968, the Six Day War, Vietnam, Biafra, the Londonderry riots—Caron was there, leaving behind over 100,000 photographs.
The recent rediscovery of a set of Ektachromes, which were barely seen when first published, is the basis of the first book released by the Fondation Gilles Caron. Caron was mainly known for shooting in black and white, so these color photographs shed new light on his work. The exhibition features over 40 color photographs, including some which have never been seen.
