Boys! Boys! Boys! is a new book edited by Ghislain Pascal and published by teNeues and Mendo. It presents a contemporary collection of queer and gay photography, full of variety, power and intensity. It features more than 50 queer and gay photographers from 20 countries. All royalties from the book are going to the Elton John AIDS Foundation. It coincides with the launch of new online art platform boysboysboys.org – the home of queer and gay photography.
When I first started Boys! Boys! Boys! it was very much a personal project. Now it has become my crusade to create a world platform for queer and gay fine art photography. The project is very specifically about celebrating the nude male form in all its glory. I want to inspire you that it is perfectly acceptable to buy and hang artworks of beautiful naked men and exhibit them in your home, to be enjoyed every day. There is nothing to be ashamed of. I can’t think of anything I’d rather look at. While both the male and female form has been the subject of art and artists for millennia, for some reason there is a fear of exhibiting the male nude. I want us to be proud of every element of our sexuality.
There are so many wonderfully talented queer and gay photographers that need your support … but without creating a market for their work it is impossible for them to survive as artists. Boys! Boys! Boys! has become a truly global project with artists from more than 20 countries from Russia to Argentina, and Venezuela to Australia.
It is important to give back to society, so I thought it was only right to give all of the royalties from this book to the incredible Elton John AIDS Foundation. The tireless work of David and Elton in the battle against AIDS is something to be celebrated and admired.
Boys! Boys! Boys! is available in June from all good book stores or to preorder now from thelittleblackgallery.com
