Fashion, from the very first sketch of a dress to the show of a new collection… From the work those little hands perform during fittings on mannequins… From the shape of a slender leg to the refined beauty of a model… French photographer Gérard Uféras has fallen in love with the ateliers of haute couture created by Christian Dior in 1946. Uféras dived into velours and taffetas, he glided between magical busts and charming plissés, his eyes observing, smiling constantly. Always righteous, always discreet, during numerous weeks, he has immersed himself among those who create and shape fashion. Haute Couture is so often only discovered in the flash of the catwalk cameras. Here, the privileged witness of an entire collection, the photographer reveals its full process. Uféras shows the whole story of the fabrics, the materials, the éclat and the splendor.
