In the landscape photography of Gérard Tordjman, the road often takes center stage. “We may look to the left and the right of it,” he says, “but we rarely look at the road itself.” Across the vast spaces of our world, these lines are what connect one group of people to another.
Born in 1951 in Algeria, Gérard Tordjman photographs roads that disappear into the horizon as if they were endless. For the past forty years, Tordjman has traveled the world taking pictures, from Alaska and India to Patagonia. They are on view at the second edition of the Festival Photo Saint-Germain-des-Près. The festival theme is “Travel and dreams.”
