This collection of images are the result of 25 years work as a photographer/art director/graphic designer.
All of my work is executed with the needs and wishes of the artist that I am working with. I endeavor to “make the cover like the music sounds”.
I never felt the need to lock myself into a “style” of photography. When I was shooting analog, I would often use film suited to the subject’s complexion. Older musicians would benefit from the grainy film disguising any wrinkles or skin flaws.
I also “shoot on the beat”, whether photographing in concert when musicians do something interesting “on the beat” or in the studio, musicians tend to focus more when given a count down 1-2-3-click.
2016 All Ramones PopUp Exhibit
2016 is the 40th anniversary of the release of the Ramones’ first LP and I have collected over 60 images from other photographers (Bob Gruen, Jenny Lens, Roberta Bayley, Danny Clinch, David Godlis and others) who worked with the band throughout their career. These images are printed to A2 format, have torn edges and are taped to the walls of the venue or gallery. After the event, the guests/fans are allowed to “liberate” the prints. Already there are 3 exhibits in Italy, 4 in Switzerland, 1 in Poland and more are being scheduled. The debut of this collection will be at the ARC Mega Record and CD Fair April 16-17. http://www.recordplanet.nl/en/platenbeurs.html
