Coming from Montreal, Highway 132 passes along the St. Lawrence River, continues on until Percé Rock, turns towards Chaleur Bay, rises up to the Matapedia Valley and loops back to the starting point in Gaspésie. This was the route taken by the Kahem collective when they were invited for a residency by the Rencontres Internationales de la Photographie Gaspésie.
All Quebec natives , the photographers Charles-Frédérick Ouellet,Christian Lamontagne, Nicolas Levesque and Yoanis Menge each took over a portion of the highway, offering a distinctive, complementary, documentary visions of the region and its inhabitants.
Following the residency, one member of the group, Charles-Frédérock Ouellet, was offered a residency at the Promenade de Vendome, which will be on view at the 2015 edition of the Rencontres.
