The Galerie Parallax presents the exhibition Small cosmogonies by Patrick Bailly Maitre Grand.
After scientific studies (Master of Physical Sciences) and ten years devoted to painting, Patrick Bailly-Maître-Grand has been working with photographic tools since 1980.
His works, strictly analog, black & white film, are characterized by a playful imagination, associated with a taste for complex technologies such as Daguerreotype, periphotography, strobophotography, chemical toning, direct monotypes, rayograms and other inventions of his own.
Fleeing the notion of perspective, his images, although very sophisticated in their elaboration, have the simplification of visual proverbs, refined like haikus.
