James Welling presents his third exhibition in Paris, at the Galerie Marian Goodman.
After using analog photographic processes, James Welling turned to digital technologies in 1998. Thought Objects (2023-24), whose title is borrowed from the anthology of photographs by Barbara Ess and Glenn Branca published in 1987, and of which new photographs were recently taken in Italy, are presented at 79 rue du Temple, while at 66 rue du Temple, three Thought Objects from 2023 are shown with his 2009 series devoted to the Maison de verre, an iconic private house, made of glass and steel, built by architect Pierre Chareau in Paris.
