Mon Poisson d’Avril / My April Fool’s Day Fish
Even if I do not believe in chance, this one made me find myself in Trouville-sur-Mer for the weekend of April 1, 2022.
Photography just like the oceans and the seas occupy a very important place in my life. It’s visceral! It is vital ! This is My oxygen!
For me April 1st rhymes with April Fools so a little zest of humor. A fish must evolve in its natural environment. This is why in relation to my own story as a Photographer, I drew my fish and my camera on the sand of the beach to express some of my emotions at a given moment in my journey.
Always believe in your dreams…
Frédéric Gerard
For his thirteenth birthday, his father gave him a Polaroid camera. The discovery of photography allowed him to fight against his shyness. Since then, he has conceived of it as a way to stop time, to pass it on to future generations. What matters most to him is the emotion.
His photographic work essentially aims to show the behavior of life in all its forms. The more our life advances, the more we realize that we are only passing through on earth.
Frédéric also tries to show how humans are just a grain of sand in the face of planet Earth. Effects with natural light also figure prominently in his photos. Most of the time, it gives them their own personality. The most important thing is the eye and the way in which his feelings about any scene will succeed in captivating the emotions of those who view his photographs.
He graduated from the EFET Paris School of Photography.
