Microscopic explorations.
The Vedute series bridges both the visible experiences of the microscope and the telescope, operating a rocking movement between flat and perspective, abstraction and figuration.
The abstract and altered film is simultaneously traversed by light and by the explorer in search of forgotten or desired territories.
Over the course of the immersions, images of expeditions, landscapes from the history of photography and other latent images come back to mind. The landscapes emerge from an improvised choreography between memory, observation and manipulation of the photographic support.
Directly fixed and revealed on silver paper, these snapshots remain the only trace of the ephemeral journey. They are an invitation to explore our imaginary landscapes, activating and encompassing the very place of our presence through this coming and going.
