Slow photography quietens the pace
Time, in all its complexity, remains the decisive factor in photography. It has a direct impact on light, exposure and the end result. In this latest edition, we take a look at slow photography, a vaguely defined movement in an age where images are instantaneous, urgent, shared immediately, ubiquitous… Slow practices emphasise the photographic experience and the materiality of media, aiming to capture an interval rather than an instant. Slow photographers opt for film photography, large format view cameras, pinholes, Polaroids or older processes such as collodion positives or Fresson prints.
