Fifth edition of the Rolling Paper festival

Preview

LE BAL Books invites you to the fifth edition of the Rolling Paper festival, to be held at BAL from September 29 to October 1, 2023.

This year, the festival will once again bring together a fair of some twenty international publishers, as well as a program of launches, signings, meetings and workshops.

Rolling Paper opens its doors on Friday, September 29 from 5pm, with the opening of the publisher’s fair and a new musical performance by Otto + Gata, Ritual of Light, at 8pm. On Friday and Saturday, LE BAL Books, in collaboration with the Atelier Sirjacq of the Beaux-Arts de Paris, is organizing an off-site workshop, Survivor Library, led by artist and publisher Lia Pradal. Throughout the weekend, the public will also be able to discover an installation dedicated to the work of photographer Paul Grund, as well as a “reading room” focusing on anticipation photography, organized by publishers Laure-Anne Kayser (Area Books) and Pierre Hourquet (Temple). On Saturday at 3pm, author and photography historian Michel Poivert will lead a conversation on this theme. A projection featuring titles from Italian publisher Witty Books’ Ear/Eye collection will also be on view throughout the fair. Book launches, signings and workshops will punctuate the three-day event.
