A cultural festival, supporting contemporary photography, amateur practices and image education, Pluie d’Images–CAPAB (Collectif Armoricain de Photographes Auteurs Brestois) is a cultural and educational association which aims to promote and develop the photographic medium in all its dimensions and all its expressions.
The Pluie d’Images Festival is an event committed to supporting creation. It supports authors in terms of programming, distribution, artist residency, production assistance to present the work of professional photographers with rigor and quality in selected locations offering the most suitable conditions.
Its programming is structured around a theme bringing together recognized photographers who have already published or working (daily, weekly, monthly or magazines, books, photo-conferences, etc.) of national or international renown. In 2025, the Festival will celebrate its twentieth edition by inviting 5 professional photographers who have contributed to the success of previous editions. The theme of the Festival will be “To Be Elsewhere” and will reflect the Festival’s concern to express and share the spirit of openness and curiosity of the participating photographers in cultural, social, geographical and psychological dimensions.
The Pluie d’Images Festival in 2025 is 23 exhibitions bringing together professional and amateur photographers in Brest, its metropolis and beyond in the Pays de Brest, accompanied by numerous activities: photo-conference, openings, meetings, guided tours , workshops, readings, screenings, debates, interventions with schools, etc.
This winter event is now a well-established and awaited cultural event in the Finistère cultural landscape.
This 2025 edition will involve photographers from Landivisiau to Saint-Renan and exhibition venues from Plougastel to Plougonvelin.
The festival benefits from very good coverage in the regional and national press, radio and television media, a poster campaign throughout the Finistère department in addition to Brest Métropole and the Bibus network, the distribution of 5,000 programs and extensive coverage on social networks.
