September is the month of photography in the city of Toulouse. The second edition of the Mois de L’image includes the MAP festival and an older festival, the Festival ManifestO. Dedicated to showcasing contemporary, international photography talent, the Festival ManifestO, celebrating its 12th anniversary, features indoor and outdoor exhibitions throughout the city. The main program is being held in the the Cour Dillon on the banks of the Garonne river, where several containers are the site of exhibitions for the 2014 edition.
Also on display are a series of photographic exhibition selected by a jury of professionals, including Agathe Gaillard (gallerist), Gilles Favier (photographer and director of the festival Images Singulières Sète) and Jacques Roubert (gallerist and collector), who have made a large, eclectic selection of work privileging openness to the image: Hervé Baudat (La chambre des fleurs), Antoine Bruy (Les Maquis), Bertrand Cavalier (Saisonnière), Joseph Charroy (Carnet d’Ukraine), Marie-Pierre Cravedi (Réunion), Sébastien Delahaye (Jette), Charles Delcourt (Tout in haut déch Terril), Patrice Dion (Essence), Philippe Leroux (Le Cœur de Pierre), Virginie Plauchut (Sans preuve et sans cadavre), Constance Proux (Akkar), Stéphanie Roland (Les enfants-modèles), Mateusz Sarello (Swell), Lara Tabet & Michelle Daher (Roseaux) and Arno Brignon (Ceuta).
Also on the program is the presentation of the winners of the Grand Prix ETPA, Francesco Fantini’s Des mots pour refuge, featuring testimony by Syrian refugees in Jordan and Lebanon, and two group exhibitions at the Musée des Augustins, as well as a selection of Photographs of the Year.
