Fashion Press Review by Patricia Nagy

As the Beastie Boys once sung, you’ve “gotta lighten up, lighten up, lighten up right now…”  Winter is just about over, and if you feel the grey heaviness getting to be a little too much, I’m here to help.

How, you might be asking yourself?  Well, I’ve decided to shake up your lives by having Lindsey Wixon literally pounce on you, thanks to the great Ryan McGinley, for Flair’s issue 14.  Sun, friends and bunny ears can do wonders for getting one out of the February funk.
Personal style is always important, especially if you travel in packs.  Making sure you have your own particular look is always refreshing for the photobloggers and people-watchers out there, unless you’re one of the gals that lensman Mikael Jansson featured in his story for Interview’s February issue.  Then I’d say the contrary. Solidarity sister.

But if you’re more of the solitary type, keep it colorful, like Juergen Teller did for British Vogue’s March issue with model Saskia de Brauw and all her tones in tow.

And while you’re at it, take a lesson on maneuvering bad traffic, as Coco Rocha does in Marrakesh for ELLE China’s November issue shot by Benoit Peverelli.

Or, if you prefer to engage with oncoming traffic, do so only if you are named Natasa Vojnovic and you find yourself under the watchful lens of Andreas Larsson for Memoire Universelle. Otherwise, I wouldn’t recommend it.

But always ensure you get to where you’re going with oomph, just like Martha Hunt for David Bellemere in Vogue Spain’s January issue.

If sharp, metallic objects are a part of your daily routine, it’s important to keep focused, just as Steven Meisel illustrates in Vogue Italy’s February issue.  But I don’t have to tell you that.

And when it’s time to relax, just sit back, put your feet up and enjoy the colors of your labor. Take a cue from photographer Sebastian Faena and Dree Hemingway in his image for Porter’s Spring issue.

Relaxing never looked so good, especially with undertones of another era, as the grand Karlie Kloss demonstrates in this shot by Nico in French ELLE’s December 14th issue.

And when you’re ready to take it all off after a long day, just shake it out, like Abbey Lee Kershaw shows Maurizio Bavuti in Flaunt.

Then embrace those lovely lady lines as Drake Burnette does in this image by Theo Wenner for Love’s Spring issue, and get back to how nature intended us.

Or embellish it, like Steven Klein does for Love.

Without all of that, how would we get through the last couple days of winter?
