I created the agency “FAM” in 1977 with the hope of offering an alternative, for classical model. My eyes were trained from a very young age in movie theaters, where I developed a particular interest in New Wave and Russian films.
I was especially interested in staged images or fictional scenarios.
As the founder of “FAM” agency, my thinking and my work inspired me to look for sources of inspiration for the photographers whose work reflected a Baroque singularity or sophistication. My collaboration with them was based on intellectual complicity and humor.
Very quickly, thanks to these image creators. I had the freedom to put in perspective through selected models , literary, cinematographic or borrowed references from art history.
For their part, the models adopted an attitude that privileged freedom with these photographers, far from the representations of stereotypical images. Actresses of their relationship with the photographer, they reclaimed the image of their body and conquered the medias.
It’s the style and personality of these models that determined my choices. Each in their own way, traced the imprint of another vision of femininity through a multitude of subtle, transgressive portraits, or ultimate romanticism.
With this exhibition, I wish to restore the dialogue maintained with these major photographers, and testify to the diversity of points of view that they could offer to “FAM” and to the women.
