The photographs presented in this exhibition at Bordeaux’s Château Labottière create a dialogue with each other and showcase the diversity of Valérie Belin’s work. Through the treatment of light, contrast, print proportions, and other skillfully orchestrated parameters, Valérie Belin plays with uncertainty. In front of her images, it is often difficult to say if what we are seeing is alive or inanimate, real or virtual, natural or artificial. On the first floor of the chateau, five rooms are dedicated to the famous series Modèles, Bob, All Star, Still Life, Mannequins, Super Models, and Metisses which respond to one another.
