“The three authors laureates of the Prize: Pierre-Elie de Pibrac, Emmanuel Tussore, Camille Shabestari, work on a same issue with asserted identities. The exhibition focuses on the photographic research of each one, that explores documentary through specific and complementary visual processes.
As a result, there is no coincidence! The 2018 selection for the Prix gathers three photographers in step with their time. A major prize for young international photography
Created in 2008, the Prix Levallois has been rewarding, for ten years, photographers under 35, of all nationalities. All project are welcome : the Prize doesn’t require a theme nor a format, only the quality of the work counts in the process of selection.
Fifteen photographers are nominated by the artistic directors. Their projects are presented with impartiality and good will in front of a jury composed of four people from the world of photography and a member of the City of Levallois’ town hall, in order to reward a Laureate and a Special Mention. The Audience award is attributed after an online vote that gives voice to all photography lovers.
Award-winning photographers are guided by the curators who help them finalize their project. The challenge is to reveal the quality of their proposition, by highlighting its intelligence and sensitivity. The photographs are presented in an exhibition at Galerie de L’Escale in Levallois, from October 5 to November 24, 2018.
Award ceremony and opening on October 4
The opening and the award ceremony will be held on Tuesday, October 4, from 7:00 PM, in attendance of the sponsor, Valérie Jouve, the laureates and the members of the jury. The laureate will receive a €10 000 grant and the Special Mention, an Olympus Pen-F DSLR camera.
Guided visit
Guided visit A guided visit by Jacques Damez, curator of the exhibition, will take place on Saturday, November 24 at 4 PM.
