With the support of Rencontres d’Arles, ADAGP is organizing a round-table discussion on “Artificial intelligence and photography: what’s at stake for authors?” on Wednesday July 5 at 4:30 pm, Cours Fanton.
A formidable creative tool for some, an open door to plagiarism for others, Artificial Intelligence (AI) is overturning artistic practices and questioning our relationship with the work and the image.
Particularly affected by the development of generative AIs (such as Midjourney or DALL-E), photographers face new challenges. New means of creation, unfair competition, remuneration and consent, transparency of technological systems…: what impacts on photographers, their rights, their practice and the recognition of the latter?
With:
Marie-Anne Ferry-Fall, Managing Director of ADAGP (moderator)
Valérie-Laure Benabou, Professor of Private Law, Université de Paris-Saclay / UVSQ
Tan Chui Mui, artist and filmmaker
Nicolas Giraud, artist, photographer and art theorist
Fred Ritchin, Dean Emeritus of the School at the International Center of Photography and author
