For its 19th edition, PHOT’AIX, the Photography Festival organized in Aix-en-Provence by the Fontaine Obscure strives to meet a double challenge:
- Promote contemporary photography by promoting exchanges between French and foreign artists as part of the international exhibition Regards Croisés,
- Bring photography down the street and promote the emergence of new talent, by organizing Photographic tours in Aix en Provence.
From October 4 to December 29, 2018, Regards Croisés welcomes Austria: five Austrian photographers will exhibit next to five French photographers, at the Galerie Zola (Cité du Livre in Aix-en-Provence):
- Michaela Bruckmüller, Danse macabre / Oiseau noir et Bénédicte Hanot, Nature vivante
- Michael Michlmayr, Espace de Temps et Gérard Staron, Faux-Semblants
- Werner Schuster, X-Ray et Muhanad Baas, Botanix
- Helmut Steinecker, Serpentes et Philippe De Crest, Neverland
- Hans Wetzelsdorfer, Intériorisation de la lumière et Michel Kirch, Inner light
