On June 5th at the Gaggenau Hub of Milan, the non-profit project Cramum together with the design brand Gaggenau, presented VITREUS, the new solo-show of Ingar Krauss curated by Sabino Maria Frassà. Till the end of July for the first time in Italy the so-called “glass series” are shown thanks to the partnership with the Goethe-Institut in Milan and the Design Elementi.
This cycle is made of a small group of photographs which portray essential compositions of glasses framed so as to include and exalt light. As the curator remembers: “It would be unfair and limiting to see Ingar Krauss simply as a photographer: his photographic compositions are the result of a unique alchemy – also technical – between photography and painting. Ingar Krauss’s photographs are made of light. In these artworks the centrality of light, present in all his famous still-lifes, takes over and becomes itself the object of investigation and artistic research. Essential glass compositions are framed so as to include and exalt light.”.
