International festival of emerging photography PHOTOBOOKFEST 2018 announces the start of Photobook Dummy Contest
Constantly changing with the development of technology, materials, design and typography, the photobook is discovering new ways of transforming image into an impressive and dramatic event. The photobook has provided a real and affordable way for photographers to realise their ideas, especially in Russia and post-Soviet countries where, in the absence of the art market, they are put in a very challenging creative environment impeding the development of any healthy competition. The aim of the PHOTOBOOKFEST dummy contest is to support young photographers from Russia, Ukraine, Georgia and CIS countries.
The first prize of the contest is publishing the winner’s book.
The winner will be chosen by an international jury, while the shortlisted works will be displayed at the PHOTOBOOKFEST 2018 emerging photography festival.
The competition is open for photographers and creative collectives from Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Moldavia, Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and Turkmenistan.
Deadline for applications: 15 April 2018.
