Too many dark stories and not enough geography; so long live to the impromptu journey through the works of eight loyal artists from the Atelier l’Oeil Vert!
Olivier Marchesi’s Russia, dual photographs: shadows by two or swing for two, when it is not the images themselves that respond to each other – The photograph of a black wooden jetty on a frozen lake echoes a wiper blade on the frost of a car windshield.
Still traveling, but to Japan with Self-portrait in the Gray Zone by Kuniko Esther Asano: a set of ten photograms, or as many prints of her body, here recompose or disperse a female silhouette on paper.
Feminine fragments again with Veronica Mecchia: a delicate toe approaches a crack in the floor. Besides, tight framing on a navel surrounded by blooming sunflowers as a glowing proof of happiness. Further on, as an artist’s book, the tiny leporello of Voyage en Italie will close the exhibition.
From Sylvie Valem’s work Lith, five prints are on display. Still lifes, landscapes: the longtime of photography, the time we keep or the time we have lost.
Shiraz Bazin-Moussi, a dreamy childhood island somewhere off the coast of Tunisia in three Fresson prints. We will come back to this in a more exhaustive way soon on the occasion of the publication of L’Ecume des amnesies by Le Bec en l’air.
Denis Brihat, very big thank you to Didier Brousse and the Camera Obscura gallery, for the portrait of a young Indian straight out of the very chic 1950s in photography. He is preceded by two vintage prints, Le Nez dans l‘herbe and Les Trèfles, both collected in the Lubéron where he resides.
Mondo and the Ex Voto series offer an enigmatic collection of Christmas trees in the streets of Paris. Some are embroidered, others simply abandoned.
Finally, Gregor Beltzig and an almost entomological practice of images which he immobilizes in resin. Little perfect worlds are born, which he places on gold leaves.
There are worse mirrors.
