Esther Woerdehoff Gallery presents the work of their new artist: Eric Marrian.
Through these platinum-palladium prints filled with light, we discover the photographer’s gaze, a universe of sensitivity and sensuality. Everything we need after this quarantine period!
With his series “Carré Blanc”, initiated in 2003, Eric Marrian approaches the nude with an architectural approach to the body, exclusively treated in black and white. Through the vision of a geometer confronted with the organic, he poetically questions the metamorphoses of body and soul.
Eric Marrian
Born in 1959, Eric Marrian is a graduate in architecture and a professional photographer. In the early 2000s, he decided to return to photography, a discipline he had put on hold during his studies. In 2003, he produced a series “Edges of walls”, which was awarded the Leica Procirep prize.
The ensuing exhibition at the Verdeau Photo Gallery allows him to present the new series he started: “Carré Blanc”.
With “Carré Blanc”, Eric Marrian approaches the nude with an architectural approach to the body, exclusively treated in black and white. This series allows him to be recognized as a photographer and to exhibit numerous times, in France and abroad. It was selected in 2006 for the European Nude Photo Festival and is programmed at the Moscow Photographic Biennale by Olga Sviblova.
The “Carré Blanc” exhibition is part of the “Arles in Paris – 20 places, 20 photographic exhibitions” tour. From July 1 to August 1, 2020.
The gallery is open exclusively by appointment: [email protected]
