Espace des fabriques : Malo Jénin : Ubiquité

Preview

On June 18 and 19, 2022, the artist Malo Jénin presents his exhibition Ubiquité (Ubiquity), the culmination of a research initiated several years ago on the scope of the medium. Photography thus becomes the basis of a broader, interdisciplinary reflection, the purpose of which is systematically to highlight the nobility and poetry of each situation, of each image.

Faced with the diversity of points of view that photography suggests, Ubiquité seeks to account for the universe that hides behind each image. These, associated with painting, drawing and writing, are thus transposed into a phantasmagorical universe, both raw and absurd, characteristic of Malo Jénin’s vision. If by confronting the works with the viewer, the latter seeks to create an impression of projection in the image, he also adds a personal vision. The character of the image, thus influenced by the artist, changes due to the diversity of gazes and feelings it provokes.

Always in search of new textures and materials, Malo Jénin enjoys looking for the graphic aspect that will highlight the poetry of the duality of the work, both clean and distorted. As much by photography as by collage and the drawings and inscriptions that it affixes to its support, the purpose remains the same, to make it possible to observe the ubiquity of the emotions which bring together certain places, certain beings or certain situations.
